Man City cashed in on academy player Carlos Borges in the summer – but the wide forward could now be making a swift return to England.
Borges was once one of the highest-rated talents within the whole City Football Group and last campaign, he finished as the top goalscorer in the PL2 with 21 goals in 24 matches. His overall record in the City youth academy read 55 goals and 42 assists in 79 appearances.
Some fans wondered if Borges might get a chance within the first-team after such an exciting campaign.
But the youngster would never get that chance.
After it had looked like he would join West Ham United, Borges joined Dutch giants Ajax in a £17 million transfer deal – but the youngster could already be set to return to England…
