Manchester City’s Phil Foden of has surprised fans this week on his Instagram page with a significant personal announcement.
From an individual standpoint, the 23-year-old is having one of his best seasons since joining Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City first team, having so far contributed significantly more goals.
In his 22 City appearances across all competitions thus far this season, the highly regarded academy graduate has contributed seven goals and five assists for his teammates who won the Treble.
Goals against Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were almost certainly the season’s high points, but off-field events will give Phil Foden even more reason to smile when he returns to action this weekend.
Phil Foden revealed this week on his official Instagram page through a story upload that he has passed his driving test, displaying the certificate to make the news official in a wholesome photo.

Phil Foden has received rides to and from the Etihad Stadium and City Football Academy from teammates and people in his immediate circle since assuming the role of a regular first-team fixture.
After suffering a crushing 1-0 loss to Aston Villa on Wednesday night, Foden and his Manchester City teammates will be intensifying their preparations at the latter this week in an attempt to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.
The matchup between Pep Guardiola and his team and the newly promoted team takes place at the legendary Kenilworth Road.
It comes just before the team’s season-ending group stage matchup with Crvena zvezda in Belgrade, Serbia in the UEFA Champions League.
