Sources have informed Football Insider that Pep Guardiola has privately conceded that Marcus Rashford is the only player from Manchester United who is good enough to play regularly for Manchester City. The Spaniard is said to have a high opinion of Rashford’s talent and playing style, believing that he would excel in City’s dominant team.
However, Guardiola has expressed doubts about Rashford’s combination play, which is an important factor in his system. Despite this, he remains highly rated by the City boss.
Rashford has faced criticism this season for his off-field behavior and lack of contributions on the pitch, having only scored five goals and provided six assists in 30 appearances across all competitions. Despite his relatively quiet campaign, he remains a key player for United, having started 25 games in all competitions.
The England international has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but sources have revealed that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS outfit are eager to keep him at the club. Guardiola’s private views on Rashford have garnered attention amid ongoing discussions about his future.
Manchester City recently moved to second in the Premier League table after a 1-0 win against Brentford, while Manchester United remain in sixth place. Furthermore, City’s next game is against Bournemouth on February 24th, while United will be playing Fulham at Old Trafford.
In other news, a Manchester United coach is reportedly in advanced talks to join a new club, after further negotiations that took place today, sources have said.
