Manchester City trialist Amar Fatah received special praise from Pep Guardiola after making his debut for the club during a pre-season match against AC Milan. The forward, who is a youth international for Troyes and Sweden, had previously played as a winger on loan at Lommel, a Belgian club that is part of the City Football Group.

Fatah initially signed a five-year contract with Troyes in 2022 before being loaned out to Lommel for the 2022/23 season. An injury led to a rehabilitation process at Manchester City’s facilities, giving him a chance to work on his fitness and train with Guardiola’s squad during the summer when some first-team players were absent. Fatah made his non-competitive debut for Manchester City as a substitute in a match against AC Milan at Yankee Stadium.

Guardiola praised Fatah’s performance along with three other attacking players after the match, highlighting their contributions on the pitch. While Fatah’s impressive showing in the new Manchester City third kit is a positive sign, it is unlikely that the club will pursue a permanent agreement with the trialist. However, Fatah may still feature in Manchester City’s remaining pre-season matches against FC Barcelona and Chelsea in the United States.
