Manchester City is reportedly planning to hold talks with manager Pep Guardiola regarding a contract extension during the summer. Guardiola, who took over in 2016, has won every major honor available to him as Manchester City manager, including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup in 2023.
While Guardiola’s long-term rival Jurgen Klopp is set to leave Liverpool, Guardiola appears to be eager to continue his success in England. The club has made it clear that there is a new deal on the table for Guardiola, but they are not rushing him and do not expect a decision until the end of 2024.
Guardiola has expressed that both he and Manchester City have plenty of time to decide on the future and he wants to make the right decision. While he is open to a contract extension, he acknowledges that the situation is different now compared to earlier in his tenure. In the meantime, Guardiola and his team remain focused on their goal of securing a second successive Treble this season.
