Erling Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta has welcomed the prospect of him penning a new contract at Manchester City.
Haaland has adapted seamlessly to life in the Premier League after City triggered a £51million release clause to pinch the sought-after striker from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. However, it has been widely speculated that a similar clause has been written into the five-year deal that Haaland penned with City back in June.
It’s been claimed that Haaland would be able to leave the Etihad for £175m when the clause becomes live in 2024 – a development that has already appeared to pique the interest of both Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Whether the La Liga side would make use of that remains to be seen, and while Pep Guardiola seems in the dark about it all, a senior representative for Manchester City striker has discusses possible Man City contract extension.
The main person here is Rafaela Pimenta, a lawyer by trade who took over the role as Haaland’s agent when Mino Raiola died earlier this year.
Following a sensational start to life at the Etihad Stadium, the question was put to Rafaela Pimenta whether she and Haaland’s team of representatives would be interested in entering talks with Manchester City officials over a new and improved contract.
“I hope so!” She responded when asked if a new contract would be discussed soon: “If they [City] want to discuss today, we’d be happy. Why not? Always good!”
