‘Nooooo’, ‘If this is true, Pep will destroy us’ – Fans reacts as Agent of £16.2m-rated ace in talks with Man City; Guardiola rates him ‘a lot’

Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the agent of Sergi Roberto is already in talks with the club for a deal this summer.

Roberto, whose current contract at Camp Nou is due to expire in the summer of 2022, had a very underwhelming La Liga campaign as Barcelona finished third under the management of Ronald Koeman.

Pep Guardiola had reportedly previously wanted Sergi Roberto last season but he refused as he wanted to wait and see if he was still in Barça’s plans.

The 29-year-old would prefer to stay at Barcelona but has made it clear that he will happily jump ship and join City if his current employers make it clear that he is no longer wanted at Camp Nou, which seems like just a matter of time.

Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, journalist Duncan Castles claims that the Spanish international’s representatives have been in touch with the Premier League champions over a possible move this summer.

As per Castles, Pep Guardiola rates Roberto ‘a lot’, and is a big fan of the 29-year-old’s ‘flexibility’ on the pitch.

 The £16.2m-rated Barcelona utility man is coming off the back of an injury-hit season that saw him make only 20/54 appearances and his contract is up next year, so things are uncertain.
