Manchester City fans have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction at report that claims Barcelona have reach agreement with Pep Guardiola’s side for Bernardo Silva.
The Portuguese midfielder is a key target for Barcelona, with manager Xavi said to be ‘obsessed’ with the 27-year-old.
Despite Pep Guardiola reiterating that the Citizens wish to keep hold of the former SL Benfica and AS Monaco midfielder, the speculations refuse to go away.
The Portuguese midfielder is still being strongly linked with a switch to Camp Nou, and a recent report even claimed that the Portugal international had told his agent to open talks over a move to Xavi’s side.
Spanish journalist Lu Martin reported last week that Bernardo Silva has not asked or even hinted at a Manchester City exit so far this summer.
This aligns with recent reports that have suggested Silva is keen on fulfilling the remaining length of time on his existing City contract.
But today news from Spain broke that Bernardo would leave for Barcelona as the agent and the clubs have agreed a fee.
According to Gerard Romero, Barça have reached an agreement with the English giants and the player’s agent Jorge Mendes, over Silva’s potential move to Camp Nou this summer.
Romero suggests the overall cost of the deal could be less than €80 million, which is far below the reported value of €100 million earlier in the summer.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from Manchester City supporters.
