Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have first refusal to sign Ferran Torres should FC Barcelona decide to sell the 21-year-old attacker in the future.
The Spain international completed a move to Camp Nou for a reported initial fee of £46.7m earlier in the winter window, in spite of Barca’s financial struggles.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have included the ‘right of first refusal’ in the Ferran Torres agreement with Barcelona.
The Italian journalist posted: “Just been told an interesting, new detail: Manchester City have included the “right of first refusal” in the agreement with Barcelona for Torres.
“Man City will have the chance to match potential future bids for Ferran. Final decision always up to the player.”
Whether Torres would ever want to return to the Etihad Stadium is a different question.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
