Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side are in the race to sign Victor Osimhen and have enquired about the player.
The 24 year-old has been nothing short of sensational for Napoli this season, playing a significant role in the Naples club securing their place as the current runaway league leaders in Italy’s top-flight.
Across 22 Serie A appearances so far this season, the Nigeria international has scored an impressive 19 goals and provided a further five assists, forming a devastating relationship with those in attack for Napoli.
Luciano Spalletti’s squad hold an 18-point lead at the top of the Serie A table after 26 matches this season, leading the likes of Inter, Lazio, Milan, and Roma at the top of the division.
Unsurprisingly given the success of Napoli so far this season, that should result in them winning the Serie A trophy come the end of the campaign, the Italian side are expected to face a battle to keep the likes of Victor Osimhen, and Manchester City could be one potential suitor.
Manchester City despite having Julián Álvarez and Erling Haaland on their roster, the Etihad team has reportedly made inquiries about Osimhen, according to recent claims by Transfer Guru, Florian Plettenburg.
Florian Plettenburg claims that the reigning Premier League champions are joined by Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United in the race for Victor Osimhen, with different talks having taken place.
However, it is stated that in regards to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, they are not included in this pursuit of the Nigerian sensation, with a fee in excess of €100 million not being feasible for those within the club.

➡️ Been told City, #CFC, #PSG & #MUFC are all in! Different talks took place. #MCFC inquired although they have Haaland/Alvarez.

@AgentRiyad26: “Makes no sense.
@MCFC Sean: “But we already struggle to play our back up striker.”
@vames_online: “In as much as i would love it, it appears to be false to me. I don’t see it happening.”
@AbhisekBChoudh2: “They (His agent ) are just shooting up his price . Why in the hell city want another striker when they have the best Striker and also renewing backup ones contract . He is clearly going to Man United/Chelsea/PSG.”
@BelGeneric: “There is no way this is true, absolutely no need for him and it’d be so dumb to make him play as a winger or something.”
@karimmcfc: “Wrong player. We want Kvaradona.”
