Micah Richards highlighted the impact of star striker Erling Haaland, who has already netted four goals in two league games and poses a constant threat to opposing defenders with his pace and goal-scoring prowess.
Guardiola praised Haaland’s sharpness this season compared to the previous one, where he was plagued by injuries, particularly in his hip, ankle, and knees. Haaland’s focus on impacting games through his strengths as a striker, rather than involving himself in build-up play like other forwards, makes him a nightmare for defenders. Richards explained that Haaland’s ability to constantly threaten in behind and exploit defensive lapses makes him a challenging opponent to face.
