Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan believes Manchester City’s season should be considered a failure if they do not win the Champions League.

The Cityzens, who are on course to win their third Premier League title in four years this season, are currently 15 points clear at the moment.

They play Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup final at Wembley on 25 April, Everton in the FA Cup quarter-final on 20 March and hold a two-goal lead from the away leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Borussia Monchengladbach.

City haven’t dropped a point since 15 December and haven’t lost since 21 November. The win against Wolves on Tuesday saw the Cityzens equal their 28-game unbeaten they put together under Guardiola from May to December in 2017.

They also haven’t trailed for a single minute in any of their last 19 Premier League games – equalling Arsenal’s competition record of 19 consecutive games without falling behind, set between December 1998-May 1999.

The last time City looked this unstoppable, they did what no team had done before and won every trophy available in English football. It is not impossible to think that they cannot with the Champions League this year.

Despite breaking records and also the premier league champions to be, Simon says not winning the Champions league will be bad season should for Manchester City.

“If Manchester City have raised the bar so much and they are so dominant and so much better than everyone else”, Jordan said on talkSPORT.

“For a team that has had an inordinate amount of money for 13 years, to have not won the Champions League, I think, is a failure.

“And if they don’t win it this year, I would think that’s a failure.”
