Manchester City fans hoping to see new signing Savinho in action during the pre-season tour of the US will be disappointed, as he will not be joining the team until after the tour. The club has scheduled a four-game tour of the east coast to cater to their growing American fanbase. Despite being close to securing Savinho in a £40 million deal, he will only begin training with the team once they return from the tour.
Savinho, the ESTAC Troyes forward, is currently on holiday following his participation in the Copa America with Brazil. He is set to sign a five-year contract with Manchester City in the coming weeks, with the club intending to keep hold of his talents for the upcoming season. There was initial speculation that he could be loaned out to another top club, but it seems he will be integrated into City’s forward line alongside Haaland and Alvarez.
It is unknown where Guardiola sees Savinho fitting into the team, but assessments will be made upon his arrival at the City Football Academy in August. Despite missing out on the US tour, Manchester City fans can look forward to seeing the new signing in action once the season commences.
