The highlight of Manchester City’s January transfer window was Kalvin Phillips’ six-month loan agreement to West Ham United. The England international leaves the Etihad Stadium in search of more guaranteed minutes under David Moyes as he hopes to secure his place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the upcoming European Championships. Another signing for Manchester City was the rising Argentine under-17 international captain Claudio Echeverri in a relatively big-money agreement. However, he will remain on loan at his current club River Plate until next winter. With more of Manchester City’s transfer business for 2024 anticipated for the summer window, here is a comprehensive overview of all the deals that took place involving Pep Guardiola’s side this winter.

Arrivals: Claudio Echeverri was signed for £12.5 million plus add-ons in a permanent deal from River Plate. Alex Alcala was also brought in for an undisclosed fee in a permanent deal from LA Galaxy.

Departures: Aside from his loan move to West Ham United, Claudio Echeverri was also loaned to River Plate until winter 2024. Zack Steffen made a permanent move to Colorado Rapids, while Alfie Harrison made a permanent move to Newcastle United for up to £3.5 million. Josh Wilson-Esbrand and Lewis Fiorini both went on six-month loans to Cardiff City and Charlton Athletic, respectively. Nahuel Ferraresi made a permanent move to Sao Paulo for €4.3 million, and Slobodan Tedic made a free transfer to FK Cukaricki.

The transfer window may have closed, but Manchester City has made some significant moves, both in terms of arrivals and departures. Keep an eye on the team as more of their transfer business unfolds in the summer window.
