Etihad Stadium transfer bosses will have to break Wolves’ record transfer fee for a player sale for the second successive summer, should they wish to sign Pedro Neto.
It could be the second successive summer that Manchester City record a signing from Molineux, following on from the signing of Matheus Nunes during the closing stages of the last summer transfer window.
The Portuguese midfielder became Manchester City’s final recruit of a busy market for Etihad Stadium bosses, with the Premier League champions sanctioning Wolves’ record fee for an outgoing player of £53 million.
However, that record could be broken once again this summer, should Manchester City look to turn long-term admiration into concrete interest in the coming weeks and months for one of Gary O’Neil’s brightest talents.
