Rodri has not been named in Manchester City’s squad to face Manchester United on Sunday.

The midfielder has started every Premier League match so far this term, but is absent for the derby, with City saying on their official website that he ‘isn’t fully fit’.

Meanwhile, Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte have been named on the bench. Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji start at the heart of defence, while Jack Grealish has been named in the starting line-up.

Erling Haaland starts in his first Manchester derby, with Phil Foden expected to play from the right wing.

John Stones and Kalvin Phillips were ruled out prior to the game due to injury, and therefore weren’t named in the matchday squad.

Manchester City Starting XI: Ederson, Walker, Akanji, Ake, Cancelo, Gundogan (C), De Bruyne, Bernardo, Foden, Haaland, Grealish.

Substitutes: Ortega Moreno, Carson, Dias, Laporte, Alvarez, Gomez, Mahrez, Palmer, Lewis.
