Paraguayan journalist Erwin Velázquez says City have already made the first exploratory checks on the 22-year-old. He claims scouts regularly attend Brighton matches to follow the midfielder’s performances.

According to Velázquez, Gómez’s recent form has placed him firmly on the radar at the Etihad. The journalist adds that Pep Guardiola has included the player on a list of names the club are monitoring ahead of the next transfer window.
