Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has been offered a lucrative two-year contract by Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, sparking speculation about a potential exit from the Etihad Stadium. The Brazilian international has been linked with interest from the Saudi Pro League alongside his Manchester City teammates Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, and Matheus Nunes. Since joining Manchester City in 2017, Ederson has won six Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.
Despite missing key matches due to injury, Ederson made 43 starts for Manchester City in the recent season and has faced competition from German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega for the first-choice spot at the Etihad Stadium. The 30-year-old has the option to accept an improved Manchester City deal or consider the lucrative offer from Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi club, who also have Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks, are awaiting the green light from Ederson to begin negotiations with Manchester City.
Manchester City have a history of selling players to the Saudi Pro League, with Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte moving to the region last summer. Ederson could follow suit and join Laporte at Al-Nassr if a transfer fee can be agreed between the clubs, despite the possibility of an improved deal from Manchester City. The goalkeeper’s future remains uncertain as he weighs his options for the upcoming season.
