Nine Academy players at Manchester City have signed their first professional contracts for the upcoming 2024/25 season, continuing the club’s strong Academy system. The signings follow an earlier round of scholarship signings, with 12 players securing scholarships. Among those signing professional contracts are Rhys Thomas, Kian Noble, and Matty Warhurst, among others.

The signings are part of Manchester City’s long-term succession planning and commitment to developing young talent. The players signed their contracts at the City Football Academy alongside Academy Director Thomas Kruecken and their families. More players are expected to sign professional contracts in the coming months, with two set to do so once they turn 17.

Some of the signed players, such as Stephen Mfuni, have already had opportunities to impress at the first-team level, with Mfuni joining the team on their pre-season tour of the United States. Manchester City will continue to develop these young players and may recommend more first-team opportunities as the season progresses. Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff will oversee the development of these promising young talents.
