Southampton have shown interest in signing Manchester City striker Liam Delap this summer, who spent the previous season on loan at Hull City in the Championship. Delap, who has scored 60 career goals, was directly involved in 10 goals for Hull last season.
Delap has an impressive track record of being involved in 78 goals in 139 appearances, including scoring on his debut for Manchester City in 2020. Despite being under contract until 2026, Delap is unlikely to get playing time at Manchester City next season.
Southampton is reportedly keen on signing Delap for £20 million this summer, following their recent signing of Taylor Harwood-Bellis from the City Football Academy. This move would impact Hull’s hopes of re-signing Delap for another season, with the young striker potentially set for Premier League football with Southampton.
