Manchester City’s scouting efforts in South America have led them to 17-year-old Pedro Lima, who has caught the attention of the club’s scouts along with two other Premier League clubs. City have been actively targeting young talents in the region, as seen with their recent signing of Claudio Echeverri from River Plate for £12.5 million. The Argentinian teenager is expected to join City later this year on a deal until 2028.

In addition to Echeverri, City have also signed Maximo Perrone and Julian Alvarez from Argentina, with the latter recently making his 100th appearance for the club. The Etihad chiefs have set their sights on 14-year-old American star Cavan Sullivan as well, who will join City from MLS side Philadelphia Union upon turning 18. Manchester City, along with Liverpool and Chelsea, have sent scouts to watch Lima, a talented defender with a €12 million release clause.

Scouts from all over the world, including European clubs, have been keeping an eye on Lima, with the potential for a bidding war to arise for the young talent. Manchester City’s interest in South American prospects continues to grow, with the club looking to secure the services of promising players like Lima to bolster their squad for the future.
