Benfica’s Joao Neves has rejected a potential switch to Manchester City this summer despite being highly sought-after for his abilities as a midfielder. Manchester City player Bernardo Silva expressed enthusiasm for Neves to join, but it seems the player is set on playing for Paris Saint-Germain instead. PSG has reportedly sent an official proposal for Neves after agreeing on personal terms with him, but Benfica is not willing to let him go for a low price.
Manchester City may need to look elsewhere for midfielders this summer, with Neves seemingly out of their reach. Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes is another player of interest, although his release clause has expired. Despite Silva’s endorsement of Neves for Manchester City, it looks like the young midfielder has his sights set on a move to PSG instead. Benfica is holding out for a substantial fee for the player, making any potential deal difficult for the Premier League champions.
