Manchester City have joined Real Madrid in the chase to sign Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies.

Davies’ deal expires in 2025 and his long-term future at the Bavarian club remains uncertain.

At present, while Bayern have made approaches towards extension, the player, with a current market value of €70 million, has yet to respond to those approaches.

Bayern remain confident they can convince the Canadian international to stay in Bavaria but he is rumoured to be looking for a new challenge.

According to Fichajes.net, Manchester City have earmarked the Bayern Munich star as a long term transfer target.

It’s claimed the Citizens manager is looking for a ‘specialised’ left-back and the 22-year-old would fit the bill. The outlet even suggests the Canada international’s addition would help the Premier League winners ‘complete the puzzle’ to repeat success.

As per the report, Manchester City are not the only team monitoring Davies, with La Liga giant Real Madrid also assessing him.

Both sides would prefer a 2025 free transfer, but they could make an offer next summer, if Bayern opt to sell.
