Manchester City are preparing to offer Erling Haaland an improved contract amid fears surrounding the striker’s release clause.

The 23-year-old secured a second successive Premier League title with Manchester City last month, winning his sixth major trophy since moving to the Etihad Stadium from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 for £51 million.

Haaland helped Pep Guardiola’s side to a record-breaking fourth consecutive title, as the Norwegian international scored 27 goals and registered five assists in 31 Premier League appearances for the Sky Blues.

The Norwegian is contracted at the Etihad Stadium until 2027, but there are emerging fears surrounding the future of several first-team players beyond the end of next season, amid the potential for Pep Guardiola to depart east Manchester following the expiration of his current deal.
