Manchester City are reportedly to have openly express their interest in Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku, according to the latest transfer gossip.
The Citizens, who are expected to be in the market for a new striker at the end of the 2020-21 campaign, have been linked with the 27-year-old as a potential replacement for the club’s all-time leading goal scorer Sergio Aguero.
CorSport reported last week that City had ‘probed the ground’ for the Inter Milan striker, but claims the talks of interest in the player are only rumours or at most, surveys carried out through intermediaries.
According to latest report from FcInterNews as relayed by Sport Witness, Pep Guardiola’s side have ‘openly expressed an interest’ in the 27-year-old, amid rumours of Chelsea and Barcelona wanting the player.
The report adds that Claims of Inter Milan slapping an asking price of €120m are said to be false, because the striker is among players considered non-transferable for the Serie A club.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been linked with several strikers as they seek to find a replacement for the Argentine striker this summer.
The €90m-rated star is one of the names on City’s short list, along with Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, Tottenham’s Harry Kane, and recently Southampton’s Danny Ings amongst others.
