Manchester City are looking to strengthen their squad for next season, with Pep Guardiola making moves to secure the signing of Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, who has been excelling in the Bundesliga. Guardiola’s contract with the club is set to end in 2025, but negotiations for a renewal are expected as the club prepares for potential big-name changes this summer.

Frimpong has reportedly opened discussions with Manchester City about a possible return to the Etihad Stadium, with the club also considering the future of current right-back talents Yan Couto and Issa Kabore. Other top European clubs such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also interested in signing the 23-year-old defender, who has a release clause of £34 million in his contract.

Manchester City are focusing on forward planning in the transfer market to maintain their success, with Frimpong being seen as a potential long-term successor to club captain Kyle Walker. The club is also looking to offload Couto and Kabore, who have impressed during loan spells in European clubs and the Premier League respectively. Guardiola is set to manage a revamped squad next season, with changes expected both in arrivals and departures.
