Manchester City have reportedly approached Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma about potentially joining their team amid uncertainty over their goalkeeping situation. This comes after interest from Saudi Arabia in Ederson, Manchester City’s main goalkeeper, who has been open to the idea of a move to the Saudi Pro League since the end of last season.
Al Ittihad are now in the picture for Ederson, with a £25 million offer initially rejected. Manchester City may have to face a €50 million valuation for the Brazilian goalkeeper. There were previous plans to promote Stefan Ortega as the first-choice goalkeeper, but the latest reports suggest a change in direction among the City board.
Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has been a top player in European football for a number of years, is reportedly interested in playing in the Premier League at some point in his career. He has been a key player for AC Milan and Italy, and has had discussions about extending his contract with PSG. It remains to be seen whether Donnarumma will be pursued by Manchester City as a potential goalkeeper option, or if they will look for a suitable back-up in the event that Ederson leaves.
