Manchester City are expected to have a busy summer transfer window despite a slow start, with key positions eyed for recruitment. The European Championships and Copa America have slowed progress, but groundwork and conversations for potential transfers have already been completed. Manchester City are close to finalizing a deal for Brazil international Savio but are still in need of a suitable backup for Rodrigo in defensive midfield, with Bruno Guimaraes and Joshua Kimmich earmarked for the role.
Despite some fans getting restless over the lack of business so far, there is an expectation within the club that there will be at least two more additions after Savio this summer. Manchester City may also turn towards the left-back market once their search for midfield recruits is completed, after Sergio Gomez’s exit to Real Sociedad. There is a possibility of further recruitment in the midfield to add attacking flair and accommodate for potential exits of Kevin De Bruyne and/or Bernardo Silva.
Potential departures from the squad could lead to more activity, with Julian Alvarez attracting interest from Atletico Madrid as he seeks increased opportunities as a leading striker in a top European team. Manchester City’s pursuit of new additions is ongoing, with plans to strengthen key positions and add depth to the squad ahead of the upcoming season.
