Manchester City has signed midfielder Han Willhoft-King after his departure from Tottenham Hotspur. Willhoft-King joined Tottenham’s academy at the age of six and was considered the best player in his age group by The Guardian in 2022. Despite turning down a contract offer from Tottenham, the teenager attracted significant interest from other clubs.
Manchester City secured the signing of Han Willhoft-King for their Under-19 squad, according to transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano. The 18-year-old left Tottenham Hotspur a few weeks ago and will join City on an initial two-year contract. The Premier League champions are making changes within their Academy system, with players moving to other clubs and a new head coach appointed for the under-18s.
Oliver Reiß is set to become the new head coach of Manchester City’s under-18s, leaving Hertha BSC after 17 years. Reiß had the opportunity to be an assistant coach at RSC Anderlecht and Hertha but consciously chose City. These changes come as City continue to strengthen their Academy and coaching structure in preparation for the upcoming season.
