Several Manchester City players have been representing their national teams in recent Nations League matches. City had the most players selected for the 2024 European Championship from any Premier League side. However, one player, Erling Haaland, faced criticism for his performance in a recent match for Norway. Former Norway manager Egil Olsen slammed Haaland for being below par, describing it as one of the worst performances he had seen from the player.
Despite scoring seven goals in his first three Premier League games, Haaland struggled in the match against Kazakhstan. He had 18 touches, four off-target shots, and lost possession six times. His performance earned him a low match rating of 6.8/10 and made him the lowest-rated outfield player in the Norwegian side. Olsen’s disappointment stemmed from Haaland’s subpar performance compared to his top form heading into the international break.
