Fulham and Aston Villa have had offers rejected by Besiktas for Manchester City target Semih Kilicsoy, with the striker expected to remain at Besiktas this summer despite interest from the Premier League. Kilicsoy’s performances, with 12 goals in 35 appearances last season, have caught the attention of several English clubs, including City and Arsenal. He also made his debut for Turkey at the senior level in early June.
With Julian Alvarez set to move to Atletico Madrid, City are looking to replace him with a new No.9, potentially someone like Kilicsoy who wouldn’t demand immediate first-team opportunities. However, some may prefer a more experienced replacement for Alvarez, who had an impressive record of 19 goals and 13 assists last season. Alternatives such as Rodrygo from Real Madrid or Eze from Crystal Palace are being considered as well.
In the build-up to Euro 2024, Kilicsoy played in two friendlies for Turkey and made his tournament debut as a substitute against Italy. Despite not getting much playing time in the tournament itself, many believe he has a bright future ahead of him and City could benefit from his talent in the long run.
