Aston Villa have shown interest in signing Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb, but City has made it clear that the 21-year-old Norwegian international is not for sale this summer. This comes after Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund also reportedly made enquiries about Bobb, with Chelsea being fans of him as well due to their co-Director of Recruitment and Talent Joe Shields knowing him from his time as a youth scout at City.
Bobb has been in high demand due to his impressive performances on City’s pre-season tour of the United States, where he had a hand in all of City’s goals in one match and was impressive in another. He made his breakthrough into the first team last season and looks poised to become a regular starter, attracting attention from several clubs. City will be wary of letting another promising player like Cole Palmer slip away, which is why they are being firm in their stance on Bobb’s availability.
City appears to see Bobb as a gem in their ranks and are determined not to repeat the mistake of letting Palmer leave for Chelsea last year. They believe Bobb is ready to make the step up to become a regular starter and are confident in his abilities. The player will now have to prove himself on the pitch and show that he can make a significant impact for the team.
