Fenerbahce is looking to sign Manchester City midfielder Mateo Kovacic, with the Turkish Super Lig side showing an interest in the Croatian international. This comes after the appointment of former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho as their new head coach. Fenerbahce has already made moves in the transfer market, bringing in Allan Saint-Maximin on loan and signing Caglar Soyuncu.

Kovacic had a decent first season at Manchester City after transferring from Chelsea for £25m. While he struggled to regain his place in the starting eleven, he played a pivotal role in helping the team win the Premier League title. City is reportedly looking to offload midfielders like Kalvin Phillips and Matheus Nunes, with offers being considered to recoup some of their investment in these players.

Manchester City is open to letting go of players like Phillips and Nunes, although they may not get much of a return on their initial investments. Turkish side Fenerbahce is eyeing Kovacic for their squad, along with other reinforcement plans under Mourinho’s management. The seriousness of Fenerbahce’s interest in Kovacic remains to be seen.
