Atletico Madrid is reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez, with talks already held with the player’s representatives and a 5-year contract agreement in place. However, Atletico will need to approach City to discuss the transfer fee, with supporters expressing doubt about whether the move will go ahead due to financial considerations.
Despite Atletico’s interest in Alvarez, other clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and Chelsea have also shown interest in the 24-year-old City striker. City are said to be holding out for a fee of €90m (£76.8m) upfront, with additional add-ons included in the deal. The decision on Alvarez’s future will ultimately depend on who is willing to meet City’s asking price.
Alvarez, who is currently competing with Argentina’s Olympic squad, has stated that he will make a decision on his future once he returns to Manchester. He has indicated that he will need to analyze his options and consider his future after the Olympics, emphasizing that he is comfortable and happy at City but will assess the situation before making a decision.
