Superagent Jorge Mendes has offered Manchester City fullback Joao Cancelo to Juventus and Inter Milan, as the Portuguese player has no future at the Etihad under manager Pep Guardiola. Cancelo has played for both Italian clubs in the past, but his high salary of approximately £200,000 a week may be a stumbling block for a potential move.
Despite Cancelo’s recent success at Barcelona and with the Portuguese national team, Manchester City are reportedly willing to sell him for as little as €25m (£21m). The decision to offload the player for a low fee is likely a move to save money on his wages. Cancelo has expressed an interest in staying at Barcelona, but it is uncertain if the club has the financial resources to sign him permanently.
Alternative destinations for Cancelo could include Arsenal and Chelsea, although these clubs are not currently in the market for a right or left-back. An offer from a club in Saudi Arabia may be welcomed by Manchester City as they look to offload the defender and save on his high wages.
