Manchester City target Jamal Musiala has rejected a new contract offer from Bayern Munich, reportedly due to wage demands that the Bundesliga club cannot match. This has sparked speculation about a potential move away from Bayern, with City, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United all said to be interested in signing him if he does not agree to an extension.
At just 21 years old, Musiala’s current contract with Bayern expires in 2026, leaving him with only a year remaining at the end of this season. However, Bayern are said to be demanding a sizeable fee of around £120m for the midfielder, potentially deterring suitors. If Musiala does not sign an extension soon, his value could decrease as the end of his contract approaches.
Described as a “phenomenal” player by his German international teammate Antonio Rudiger, Musiala has continued to impress on the pitch, most recently scoring Bayern’s quickest goal in history during a match against Holstein Kiel. While it remains to be seen where he will ultimately end up, securing the signature of Musiala would be a significant coup for Manchester City if they are able to do so next summer.
