Manchester City are reportedly planning to make an £18m bid for Gremio winger Gustavo Nunes once the summer transfer window opens. The Cityzens are eager to beat other Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool, Wolves, and Championship side Norwich City, to secure the 18-year-old’s signature. However, Gremio are not expected to let Nunes go cheaply, as he recently signed a new contract with the Brazilian team until December 2028.
Despite interest from multiple clubs, including Manchester City, Gremio have the advantage of having Nunes tied down to a long-term contract. This means that any potential suitors, such as City, will likely have to meet a high release clause in order to secure the young winger’s services. Nunes has been impressing on the pitch, scoring his first goal just a week after his senior debut and becoming a regular starter for Gremio.
Nicknamed Gustavinho by fans, Nunes typically plays on the left flank, cutting in onto his stronger right foot. He has been a key player for Gremio as they won the state championship final earlier this month. Manchester City will need to work hard and potentially increase their offer if they want to sign Nunes, given his recent contract extension and strong performances on the field.
