Manchester City and Liverpool sent scouts to watch attacking midfielder Georgiy Sudakov play for Shakhtar Donetsk against Atalanta in the Champions League. Both Premier League sides are reportedly in search of a new No.10 and have identified the Ukrainian international as a potential option.
Despite Sudakov’s team losing 3-0 against Atalanta, the 22-year-old is considered a promising young player with great potential. His manager at Shakhtar Donetsk has praised his work ethic and talent, stating that Sudakov has all the attributes to become a top player and has the drive to improve and develop every day.
Shakhtar Donetsk is said to be reluctant to let Sudakov leave, and they are likely to demand a fee similar to what they received for Mykhailo Mudryk. Chelsea paid €70m (£62m) initially for Mudryk, with potentially another €30m (£27m) in bonuses, but his performance since joining has not justified the high valuation. It is unclear whether Manchester City will make an offer for Sudakov considering his high price tag and uncertainties about his potential success at the club.
