Manchester City, along with Manchester United and Bayern Munich, are interested in signing Inter Milan’s left-back Federico Dimarco. The 26-year-old has impressed with his performances on international duty with Italy, scoring a goal and providing three assists in his last four appearances for the Azzurri. His strong display has garnered attention from top clubs in Europe.
Despite Dimarco’s impressive form, Inter Milan values him highly, with reports suggesting that it would take a significant offer of around €80m (£66.5m) to persuade them to sell. This steep asking price may deter Manchester City from making a move for the left-back either in January or at the end of the season, considering they are already well-stocked in the left-back position with players like Josko Gvardiol and Nathan Ake.
While Dimarco may not be a top target for Manchester City at the moment, his potential addition could become more pressing if there is a change in management or if the need for a natural left-back arises. Manager Pep Guardiola has successfully deployed different players in the left-back position, utilizing their versatility to adapt to various defensive formations. As such, while City’s interest in Dimarco is understandable, it may not be a priority at this time.
