Manchester City is demanding a fee of £30m for goalkeeper Ederson, who is reportedly in talks with Al-Nassr for a potential move to Saudi Arabia. Many City supporters are unhappy with the low asking price, feeling that the club should be demanding at least £50m or even £70m for a player of Ederson’s caliber.
It appears that Ederson’s potential move may be financially motivated, as reports suggest he could earn nearly five times his current wage of £100,000 a week in the Middle East. With two years left on his contract and no sign of improved terms from City, his departure seems likely. Stefan Ortega is expected to become the new first-choice keeper if Ederson leaves.
Although a new backup goalkeeper may need to be signed, City reportedly already have a replacement lined up for Ederson. Despite criticism from fans about the low selling price, it seems that the Premier League champions have a plan in place for Ederson’s potential departure.
