Manchester City are interested in signing Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann as Harry Kane alternatives as there are doubt over the club’s ability to get him through the door, claims a report..
When Griezmann signed for Barcelona from Atletico Madrid, it was with the intention to elevate their forward line to new levels.
However, It’s thought that Griezmann hasn’t really had the impact expected of a player who cost €120m in his two years at Barcelona and still doesn’t really have a natural place in the starting XI.
Meanwhile, Manchester City, who are in search of a new striker, are rumoured to be one of the frontrunners for Kane’s signature, and the Premier League champions are thought to be have made a £100m offer for the England captain.
But Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is reluctant to part ways with Kane this summer and has slapped a staggering £150m price tag on the marksman’s head to fend off potential suitors.
Should the pursuit of Kane fail, Pep Guardiola’s side must definitely have a shortlist of alternatives, which could includes some of European football’s most lethal marksmen.
According to Fichajes, With Sergio Aguero having departed, and Harry Kane looking nearly unobtainable, Griezmann could provide a realistic option for Manchester City to strengthen in attack.

The report claims that Griezmann is open to the idea of leaving Barcelona and would be interested in a move to the Etihad if it became an option.
In addition, Barcelona’s financial problems are well documented and it’s thought an offer of £50m could secure Griezmann’s signing.
The Frenchman is an old wish of Pep Guardiola, who sees him as the ideal signing to maintain the system with a false nine and add that pinch of goal that Kevin de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez and company do not have, the report adds.
The Frenchman still has three years left on his contract and wants to see it out but is said to be set for talks with Barca after the Euros. Griezmann has been in good form for France at the tournament and will take on Switzerland in the last 16 on Monday.
