Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool are all set to be involved in the chase for Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister this summer, according to reports.
Mac Allister joined Brighton for around £7m in 2019 from Argentinos Juniors and is contracted to the Seagulls until June 2025 and the club have an option for a further year.
The Argentina World Cup winner has been excellent for Albion during the past two seasons and his profile sky-rocketed further as he helped Argentina win the World Cup in Qatar.
He played a crucial role as his side triumphed in the World Cup in Qatar, and his performances at the tournament have attracted interest from several clubs.
According to The Daily Star, the Premier League champions are keen on signing the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder.
It is claimed that Guardiola believes the 24-year-old would be the perfect addition to his squad, although they are likely to face competition from several other clubs for the player’s signature.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all said to be interested in the Argentinian, who featured in six of his country’s seven games at the World Cup, providing a crucial assist in the final.
The Seagulls are said to value Mac Allister at around £70 million, although the volume of interest in him could see that valuation smashed if a bidding war is started.
Elsewhere, Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly planning to push Arsenal all the way in the race to sign West Ham United ace Declan Rice in the summer transfer window.
According to Football Insider, the Blues remain keen on recruiting the England international, with Rice tipped to leave the London Stadium at the end of the season. The 24-year-old is out of contract next year and has previously spoken about his desire to play in the Champions League.
The report claims that the Hammers are reluctant to let him enter the final few months of his current deal – with the midfielder able to agree a move to a foreign club in January 2024. It adds that sources with knowledge of Rice’s situation have revealed that West Ham may be able to command a fee of £70-80million for the player.
Football Insider also report that City midfielder Bernardo Silva is open to joining Barcelona this summer, with the La Liga giants having maintained their interest in the 28-year-old.
However, the report claims that the £70million price tag placed on Silva by City has made the Catalan giants hesitant to move for the Portuguese ace. The Spanish side were heavily linked with a move for the midfielder last summer.
It adds that Bernardo is ‘keen’ on a move to Camp Nou, but he still remains a key player for Pep Guardiola, having made over 30 appearances in all competitions this campaign.
