At the beginning of this week, it seemed that Man City would have to find another centre-back to target in the January transfer window other than Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi. The Athletic’s Sam Lee had shared on the Let Me Podcast that Guehi possibly preferred moving to Liverpool or potentially Arsenal on a free transfer in the summer when his current contract expires rather than joining Pep Guardiola’s side in January.
