Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is interested in signing Portuguese winger Rafael Leao from Serie A giants AC Milan.
Leao has cemented himself as one of the world’s best wingers last season due to performances, and he certainly caught the eye of Manchester City and Pep Guardiola.
According to Sky Sports reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Pep Guardiola is keen on recruiting the 23-year-old after Leao won the Serie A Player of the Season last term with a number of impressive performances as Milan won the league title ahead of rivals Inter.
It is thought that Premier League rivals Chelsea are also interested in signing Leao, with the Blues reportedly making a late offer of €70-80m for the Milan man in the summer transfer window.
Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky spoke on the Football Daily broadcast (via MilanNews) and gave some interesting background on just how much Chelsea wanted Leao, stating that the Premier League club decided to offer €70-80m for the winger right at the end of the window.
Leao made 42 appearances for Stefano Pioli’s side last season, registering 14 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.
In 7 games this season so far he has 7 goal contributions, but was sent off in his last game against Sampdoria for two yellow card offences.
