Manchester City fans have been reacting to report that Pep Guardiola is ready to launch move for Barcelona defender Nelson Semedo to provide stern competition for Kyle Walker
Guardiola according to reports is keen to bring Semedo to the Etihad and was even willing to part with money and offer his former club Cancelo in order to reach a deal.
As reported by Daily Mail, Pep Guardiola want Semedo to challenge Kyle Walker, with City understood to be open to a swap deal involving Joao Cancelo.
Juventus and Inter Milan are also reportedly eyeing Semedo but the Portugal international wants to leave Camp Nou for the Premier League there by prioritising a move to Manchester City.
Semedo (26) joined the La Liga giants in 2017 from Benfica, leaving him with two years remaining on his initial five-year contract. The Portuguese defender is yet to renew his terms at the Camp Nou.
Semedo is a fast and direct full-back, who won the UEFA Nations League with Portugal last year. He is capable of playing on either side of the defence, which would certainly be of great help to Guardiola, especially if his back four is plagued with injuries again next season as it was throughout the 19-20 campaign.
In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Man City Xtra on Twitter, City fans have flocked to share their opinions on the transfer rumours.

Why did we even sign cancelo in the first place when we were not gonna play him and sell him anyway— Kavin🇮🇳 (@KavinDeBruyne17) May 23, 2020

What about Y. Couto 🇧🇷? You told him will go to first team. Just only for pre-season? 🤔. This guy I think can be clear the Walker’s replacement. And then you use the money for a CB and LB that are the players City need.— J@vi (@jdiazm11) May 23, 2020
