Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have made contact with Atlanta United over a potential transfer move for midfielder Thiago Almada.
The Citizens have already brought in a new midfielder during the current summer window in the shape of Mateo Kovacic, who joined from Chelsea on a four-year deal worth a reported fee of £30m.
Now, the Manchester club look to have made an enquiry over potentially adding another midfield option who has been described as being “outrageous” by talent scout, Jacek Kulig on Twitter.
According to the information of journalist Bruno Gonzalez, both Manchester City and Manchester United have ‘consulted’ with MLS side Atlanta United over Argentina international midfielder Thiago Almada.
For now, there’s no information on whether Manchester City or United are ready to place bids for the 22-year-old, who is a prodigious talent with a big future ahead of him.
Almada has been in fine form for Atlanta United, scoring eight goals and picking up nine assists across all competitions. He will add creativity and flair in the final third if City manage to secure his services.
The Argentine international is capable of operating as a central attacking midfielder, as well as a winger on both flanks. His versatility will be an added bonus for Manchester City and Pep Guardiola.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
