Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side are weighing up a move for Eberechi Eze after a deal to land Lucas Paqueta collapsed.

The Treble winners are still looking for a midfielder given the dramatic betting allegations levelled at Paqueta, who had been ready to leave West Ham United for around £85million.

City lost Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona on a free transfer earlier this summer, and although Mateo Kovacic has come in as a replacement, there is perhaps room for another new addition in the middle of the park.

Now, it seems like Matheus Nunes has caught the eye of those at Manchester City as a potential incoming.

According to Mail Sport, City have been scouting the Crystal Palace midfielder for the last six months and he is also now on the club’s shortlist of targets.

It is believed that Palace will demand £70 million ($88.60m) as a transfer fee as the player has two years remaining on his contract.

The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.

@M25AAS: “This would be a very good move!👏”

@quimbastian17: “What a brilliant signing that would be”

@huzaifaax: “Amazing player- good vision, reads his surroundings well- also very versatile. seen him play multiple times always keeps the crowd up..”

@mocripz: “This guy will be a massive signing and will fit in seamlessly to peps playing pattern if we pull this off…”

@J_MoneyCity89: “He’s a very good player (not world class) but could be fantastic under Guardiola.”

@NeonNicole95: “Decent player but I really dont see him as a 70m player”

@Spark71994247: “Not worth that amount”

@XavierTehji: “Good player but we shouldn’t go as far as 70mil for him. Guardiola was really right when he said when Man City approaches any player, the clubs exponentially increase the players value just because it’s Man City”
