‘What a joke’, ‘Worst One I’ve Seen’ – Loads of Man City fans fume over announcement

A number of Manchester City fans have been left fuming after the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) announced its Men’s UEFA Team of the Year for 2021.

IFFHS reveals the best men’s team of the year in December and it has done so this year on December 22.

It features some of the best performers in football from all across the planet. Individual and club accolades are considered while determining which players find a place in the best XI of the year, as well as substitutes and a manager.

For 2021’s Men’s best XI, IFFHS has gone with a standard 4-3-3 formation, one of the most widely used formations in football.

Manchester City were represented in the 2021 IFFHS Men’s UEFA Team of the Year by Ruben Dias and Kevin De Bruyne, with Joao Cancelo among the ‘substitutes’.

Many supporters can feel cheated out of the IFFHS team of the year, and City fans can make a good case with the inclusion of Joao Cancelo on the substitutes bench – behind Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta.

The announcement was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, with some claiming that it was the ‘worst they had seen’ to date.
