Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have dismissed talk that a deal is place to sell Bernardo Silva to Barcelona this summer.

The Portuguese midfielder is a key target for Barcelona, with manager Xavi said to be ‘obsessed’ with the 27-year-old.

Despite Pep Guardiola reiterating that the Citizens wish to keep hold of the former SL Benfica and AS Monaco midfielder, the speculations refuse to go away.

There have now been suggestions that City will cash in on Silva for less than €80million (£68m) if Barcelona can come up with the money.

It was even claimed that Barça, Man City, Silva and his agent Jorge Mendes were all in agreement about a move that would see him replace Frenkie de Jong at the club upon his departure to Man Utd.

But according to 90min Football, City have dismissed this as speculation and are believed to have no plans to let Silva go.

A separate report from the Daily Mirror also confirm the premier league champions have decided they will not be selling Bernardo Silva to Barcelona this summer.

City fans will surely be breathing a sigh of relief at this news, as the club have already let some top players leave this summer, with Gabriel Jesus joining Arsenal and Raheem Sterling moving to Chelsea.

The report was shared on Twitter and it attracted plenty of attention from Manchester City supporters.
