According to reports, Manchester City may need to break their transfer record this summer in order to secure the signature of Bayer Leverkusen attacker Florian Wirtz. There are also rumors circulating that Pep Guardiola is looking to offload up to five players during the upcoming transfer window. Additionally, Joao Felix has claimed that he has convinced Bernardo Silva to join Barcelona.

Felix stated, “If Bernardo Silva comes, I’m going to ask for a commission (laughs). Everything I have said is true and if he comes they will be delighted with him. He asked me about places to live, places to eat, about safety… He asked me a little about everything. Whether I have convinced him? I think so, I think so.”

Regarding Silva’s potential move to Barcelona, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano mentioned in his column on ‘Caught Offside,’ “Joao Felix has no doubt raised some eyebrows with his comments about talking to Portuguese teammate Bernardo Silva about joining him at Barcelona.” However, Romano also highlighted the uncertainty surrounding Financial Fair Play regulations and Barcelona’s budget, making it too early to predict the outcome.

One possible replacement for Silva could be Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, who has been in impressive form in the Bundesliga. With clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich expressing interest, Leverkusen may demand a hefty fee of €130m for Wirtz, surpassing the record fee City paid for Jack Grealish in 2021.

In terms of managerial decisions, Manchester City is reportedly prepared to initiate talks with Pep Guardiola regarding a contract extension. While Guardiola’s current contract expires at the end of next season, City’s hierarchy has made it clear that a new deal is on the table for him. However, they are also monitoring the coaching market, with Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta being considered as a potential replacement if Guardiola decides to depart.
